There are more than two hundred researched and identified acupuncture points in the ear. Auriculotherapy is considered as one of the micro-systems of Eastern Medicine, along with Foot Reflexology or Korean Hand Acupuncture system, and the ear points directly affect brain reflexes. 

Auriculotherapy is often performed with shorter acupuncture needles during a session, and/or interdermal needles or ear seeds are taped and left in place for several days for prolonged therapeutic effect. At our Bend clinic, auriculotherapy is used in conjunction with normal acupuncture sessions when appropriate, or used alone for our smoking cessation program or NADA protocol.

NADA Protocol in Bend

This ear acupuncture protocol was developed by the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) for behavioral health, including addiction, mental health, and disaster & emotional trauma, using a set of standardized ear acupuncture points. This is a simple non-customized treatment tailored for a group detox treatment or "Community Acupuncture" style treatment.
